Chris Stathis… Brooke Sullivan fascinated me. Tall, slender, smart, and cocky. Sure, she had an edge, but I got it, she didn’t have it easy coming up. I told myself it was normal curiosity when she found her biological father and inserted herself into his life.

Looking back now, I should have cut and run when she took it too far, running for lieutenant governor in his campaign for governor. She had a plan. A sinister plan. Get up close, then take him down, publicly, spectacularly – expose him as a liar and a cheat and ruin his life like he ruined her mother’s when he left her, pregnant and alone.

To everyone else she was Southie Girl, the urban, unpretentious lieutenant governor from South Boston, champion of the working class. But that dark side, that obsession to destroy the political and personal life of Governor Matthew Brooks was too much for me.
